How to LOSE Those Last Few Stubborn Pounds

For those that are on the last leg of their fitness journey, it gets harder and harder to lose those last few pounds. The scale seems to be yo-yoing and not being in your favor. You probably feel like you need to stay longer at the gym, do more cardio or cut out more calories……DON’T do those things!

Here’s how I lost those stubborn 10 pounds in 6 weeks. I started doing Intermittent Fasting, adjusted my macros, did less cardio (I’ll explain more about that) and still stuck to my 5 times a week workout sessions. (results may vary, if you want a customized fitness plan email me:

Ok let’s start with how to adjust macros without cutting a ton of calories. So if you don’t know already, in order to lose body fat you need to be in a ‘cut’ (calorie deficit). You need to find your TDEE first and then cut about 500 calories or 20% from that. You can try macro calculators online to get an idea or contact me. Now that you have your ‘cut’ calories you’ll be adjusting your macros for a high fat low carb diet plan. There are 3 macros you’ll be counting: Carbs, Protein and Fats. About 45-50% of your macros should be coming from Fats, 30-35% is protein and 25-30% will be carbs.

Having a High Fat Low Carb diet plan has it’s benefits:

  • curbs hunger

  • can help with weight loss

  • can reduce risk of heart disease and diabetes

  • can reduce triglycerides numbers

  • can reduce blood sugar

    (talk more with your doctor about this macro plan)

Now that you’ve figured out your new macros, start incorporating weight training and decrease your cardio. Try to aim for 5 workouts per week and within those 5 days you can incorporate 1-2 cardio/hiit workouts. I personally can not do a lot of cardio because of my back condition. Here’s an example of a workout week that you can try:

Monday: Legs, Booty and 15min HIIT

Tuesday: Back, Biceps and Core

Wednesday: Chest, Triceps and 15min Cardio

Thursday: Legs and Shoulders

Friday: Total Body & Core

You’ll want to do your strength exercises first, then core and cardio/hiit is last. You’ll want to do cardio last because you don’t want to completely exhaust yourself before lifting weights…you won’t be lifting as heavy as you could and you could jeopardize your form. Cardio is good for your health but it won’t do everything for you. You won’t be able to build muscle with just cardio. By building muscle you will boost your metabolism and burn fat faster throughout the day.

Affordable Double Jogging Stroller 2018

Hey Mama (or Dad), are you looking for an affordable double jogging stroller??

I was looking for one too and fell in love with this double jogging stroller! I needed something big enough for my 3yrs & 8mth old, but not too bulky that it would be hard to push around (or couldn't fit into doorways). I wanted to stay under $200 too! I also wanted something that was light weight and easy to run with and that would fit into the trunk of my minvan. I know right, I was looking for something just right! LOL

Strangely enough, I couldn't find many (basically zero) double joggers in stores! They were all sold online. Well, you know what that means....Amazon Prime, here I come!! (I freaking love Amazon Prime, but my wallet doesn't).

But, let me back up a little bit and tell you why I decided to get a Double Jogger even though I already have a double stroller. My husband and I signed up for a Mudrun 5k!! This has been on my bucket list for years and I'm so excited to finally be doing one in a few months! (I'll write another blog post about the Mudrun later lol). So, we signed up for the race about 12 weeks before it starts...plenty of time to train for one! I'm not a big fan of running, but an obstacle course run I'm excited for. The first 2 weeks of training are going good. I was finding time when my husband got home from work to go for runs and got my workouts in. Unfortunately my husband has to travel a lot for work, like every week he's out of town :(    So now that it was his busy season with work and he's out of town, I can't go for a run with all 4 kids by myself. Hence this is why I needed to get a double jogger. I started looking online and found a few that I like but they are a bit out of my price range and I didn't want to pay for shipping. Amazon Prime to the rescue!!! Another thing about me, I'm not a very patient person...I want it done right away! So having the two day shipping is even better.

Two days later the stroller shows up on my front porch!! I did have to assemble the stroller but honestly it was only a few pieces. I had to put the wheels on and the foot tray/plate. A couple screws later and the stroller was all set to go!


Seriously the best purchase ever!!! I actually enjoy running with the kids and it's easy to maneuver!

Both kids have plenty of room and there are little pockets in their seats for their water bottles or toys or a snack. The seat belt can have shoulder straps or just a lap belt. The umbrella cover can easily move to cover them (forward and back). Each seat can adjust to be in a laying down position (perfect for when the baby is napping.)
