I'm guessing most of you have heard of the company Hello Fresh, but if you're not certain if you want to sign up for it. This review will help you out! First off, I'm not an affiliate or sponsor for Hello Fresh....this is my honest review! I'll discuss about the Pro, Cons, Recipes and HelloFresh Cost in the post! So, keep reading!!
A friend of mine posted on Facebook that she had a free meal coupon for Hello Fresh and was giving it away. I messaged her about it because I too was curious about Hello Fresh but didn't want to sign up for a membership. I was able to get 2 free meals for a family of 4 (even though we have 5 lol). I still had to sign up for a membership (first con) but it did not cost me anything. For two meals to feed a family of 4 the cost would have been $70! The cost doesn't seem too bad, but I knew we did not want to spend that much money in the future for it. Once our meals were delivered I canceled my membership....I'll explain later why I did that.
The two meals I picked for our family were Thyme Pork Chops and Chicken Quesadillas. The second con is that I really didn't have a lot of meals to choose from. I had 4 to choose from in order to stay within my free budget window. The meals were delivered within a week and it was cold and seemed fresh! For each meal there is a set of easy to follow instructions (seriously, really easy to follow!) and almost all the ingredients to make the meal! I say almost because they don't provide you with salt, pepper or oil....seemed reasonable to me because most families should already have that in their cabinet!
I was a little nervous making the meals because honestly, I'm not the best cook...just ask my husband and kids lol. There are a few recipes I'm really good at but not much! The first meal I cooked was the Pork Chops. This was also my first time cooking pork chops....yup I've never made pork chops before! But to my pleasant surprise, the recipe was super easy to follow. There were step by step instructions (recipe printable below!) and it was super convenient that I had all the ingredients on hand! The pork chop meal took a total of 45 minutes to prepare & cook and it turned out great!!! Everyone (even the kids) liked the pork chops, gravy, asparagus and mashed potatoes!! Woohoo, so far Hello Fresh is a win!
The downside is that there were a lot of dishes to clean and no leftovers. You are given the exact amount for this recipe. My family likes having leftovers, so it was a little disappointing to not have any, especially since we loved this recipe!
Ok, on to the next meal..the Quesadillas. I was a little worried about this meal because we weren't too thrilled about quesadillas, I mean it's just quesadillas right?!? Surprisingly they were delicious and I'll definitely make them again!! Everyone liked them...even my picky hubby! The quesadilla meal was super easy to make because there were step by step instructions and it was really nice having all the ingredients on hand! This meal took about 30 minutes to prep and cook and it was full of flavor! Another Hello Fresh recipe win!
Another con is that there were no leftovers and I only received 4 quesadilla shells for my family of 5. Luckily my two youngest kids were able to share it was filling enough for them. Again, I wish we had leftovers because this meal was really good!
Overall I enjoyed my experience with Hello Fresh....here's a recap:

- a little expensive for 2 meals ($70 for family of 4)
